Founder: Daniel A. Barnes

Hello, my name is Daniel A. Barnes.  I am the CEO and Chief Investment Officer of Barnes Capital LLC, a fee-only Registered Investment Advisor.

My experience prior to founding Barnes Capital included: fixed-income account management, equities analyst on the Buy-side and Sell-side, CFO of a start-up, senior associate of a medium size investment advisory firm and bank and hedge fund operations.

I am hard to pigeon hole.  In January 1990, 8 weeks after the Berlin Wall fell,  I sold my car and bought a one-way ticket to Vienna.   I mastered German, completing a Masters thesis depicting how social insurance was introduced following a decade of federal failures at railroad nationalization.  I largely adapted to German life, started a family and worked in the institutional bond market. This independent path supported a habit of free and unfettered thinking on financial, economic and social issues.  Ultimately, after operations and experience as an Analyst on both sides of Wall Street, I was drawn to the investment advisory business because I wanted to work one-on-one with individual clients.

My ability to think creatively about a client’s financial situation and my passion to deliver customized, high touch client service, are key to Barnes Capital’s ability to meet and exceed our client’s goals.
